Today we have some interesting information to share with you about the 2D Mode in Dragon Quest XI S, as translated by NintendoSoup.
The latest issue of Nintendo Dream has confirmed game studio ArtePiazza was in charge of developing 2D Mode in Dragon Quest XI S. ArtePiazza is also the same studio that worked on Dragon Quest III, Dragon Quest IV, Dragon Quest Rivals, and many other Dragon Quest titles.
This revelation is a very interesting one, because Toylogic, not ArtePiazza, helped with the development of 2D Mode in Dragon Quest XI for Nintendo 3DS. Square Enix said the reason for the change is because of “scheduling conflicts” at Toylogic.
ArtePiazza also mentioned as the resolution is higher on the Switch, the 2D graphics of Dragon Quest XI S looked way better than what they imagined.
