During Nintendo’s recent third quarter financial results briefing, the company revealed some new sales figures for two of the major titles it released last year.
First up is Astral Chain, Platinum’s new IP that they launched on exclusively on the Nintendo Switch. As of December 31st 2019, the game has sold over 1.03 million units worldwide. Of this number, 870,000 units were sold in the west and 160,000 in Japan.
Second is Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order, the revival of the classic Marvel superhero game series for the Nintendo Switch. As of December 31st 2019, the title has sold over 1.02 million units. Of this number, 980,000 units were sold in the west and 40,000 in Japan.
Although not quite as successful compared to Nintendo’s first-party games, the 1 million mark is a significant milestone nonetheless. We look forward to seeing how these series will continue to perform as we move into 2020 and beyond.
