Avoid Buying Mujo On Nintendo Switch At All Cost

If you’re thinking of buying MUJO on Nintendo Switch, perhaps it’s time to highly reconsider your purchase.

The puzzle action game, which originally launched on smartphones a few years ago, is a great example of how not to port a game to Switch. Mujo’s developers, Oink Games, didn’t bother adapting the game to the screen ratio of the Switch. Thus the game ended up with two awkward empty spaces on both the left and right.

What’s even more damaging is although Mujo is a fully priced game on the Switch (USD9.99), microtransactions still exist in the game, which can cost up to USD45. In case you aren’t aware, the mobile version is free to download.

Let’s hope indies will learn a lesson or two from Mujo before cashing in on the Switch hype.

  • Nintendo probably charges developers a fee to port their game onto the Switch.
This USD$9.99 full price tag is passed onto consumers to offset the initial start-up costs.
It’s nothing personal. It’s only business
The microtransactions are what the game depends to sustain its business model. That will never go away.
Aesthetics wise, yes the developers are lazy to not take advantage of what the Switch can offer and they did not do good.

    • The Switch devkit costs $500, that's the only purchase needed to be allowed to publish games, the rest is paperwork.

Adding additional games to the eShop after developer registration has been approved is FREE.

If they sold 50 copies of MUJO they would make back the balance.

Therefore, there is absolutely no justification whatsoever for "Oink Games" to leave in ANY microtransactions.
