The Japan Independent Games Aggregate has announced the new date for their indie game festival BitSummit THE 8th BIT in Japan.
Following its cancellation, BitSummit THE 8th BIT will be held from September 2nd to September 3rd at the Kyoto International Exhibition Hall, Miyakomesse. As the COVID-19 pandemic is still ongoing, only Japanese developers, publishers, media, and sponsers will be allowed to attend. The organizers will also be monitoring the situation closely and will be adhering to all guidelines set by public health officials.
That said, BitSummit THE 8th BIT will include “a number of ways” for developers and fans outside of Japan to participate online. This includes “remote booths for officially selected developers”, “the BitSummit Discord channel and other social media channels” and an accompanying live stream. More information about the event is to be announced in the coming months.
