In recent days, Blizzard Entertainment revealed what they thought about bringing Diablo III Eternal Collection to Nintendo Switch, and what it really represents for the game.

Matt Cederquist, associate producer of Diablo III Eternal Collection, said the Switch port is built on the foundations of the PS4 and Xbox versions and is being developed in-house. Cederquist believes the portability of Nintendo Switch is the “next evolution” for the game.

Check out his full words below.

“I think this [is] the next evolution. The portability of Switch [and] the ability to play offline with your friends locally between multiple Switch [consoles] is really powerful. We’re excited to be able to travel, [play] this on a plane, get off the plane, [and] upload progress.”

Cederquist also added they’ve taken advantage of everything the Switch has to offer to make it as playable and responsive as possible. The only control scheme Diablo III doesn’t support is touch controls, as controllers are a superior method of controlling the game.
