Earlier today, we reported on a rumor that Nintendo is planning to release a new Switch model early next year, based on claims from sources in the supply chain.
Now, Bloomberg has released their own article on the subject, based on claims from their own unnamed sources who are “familiar” with Nintendo’s strategy for next year. These sources also claim that a new upgraded Switch model is coming in 2021, although the exact specifications are apparently not yet finalized. Possible additions for this new model include “more computing power” and “4K high-definition graphics”.
In addition, the sources also claim that Nintendo is planning to release several major games alongside or following this new model. Although no exact titles were shared, the sources speculated that Nintendo’s focus on their 2021 titles is the reason for the relatively bare catalog thus far in 2020.
Of course, whether these claims turn out to be true or not remains to be seen. We will be sure to share more updates on the situation as they come.
