Nintendo has put out an important update for the Nintendo Switch software compatibility on Nintendo Switch 2.
According to the latest update published on May 27, 2025 (based on testing data from April 24), 70% of third-party Nintendo Switch software (over 15,000 titles in total) have passed basic compatibility testing.
However, a few third-party applications will not work on Nintendo Switch 2 at all – they are Niconico, ABEMA, Hulu, Crunchyroll, and Inkypen. It’s worth nothing that most of these applications are video streaming platforms, so it’s possible that they will get Nintendo Switch 2 versions sometime in the future.
At present, there are 115 third-party titles with start-up issues on Nintendo Switch 2, 46 titles with no issues at start-up but some compatibility issues during gameplay, and 49 titles that will be getting a free update to address these compatibility issues sometime after launch.
