Both Pokemon Pokopia And Beast Of Reincarnation Started From Game Freak’s Gear Project

Earlier this week, Game Freak released a new game called Beast Of Reincarnation, another new non-Pokemon related title for Playstation, XBox, and PC.

Now, Game Freak’s Shigeru Ohmori has revealed an interesting tidbit about the new game, linking it to Pokemon Pokopia. According to Ohmori, both Beast Of Reincarnation and Pokemon Pokopia were “born” from the company’s Gear Project, an initiative started to encourage its developers to prototype their own ideas that aren’t necessarily related to Pokemon.

Other titles to emerge from Game Freak’s Gear Project include Giga Wrecker and Little Town Hero, although their performance and reception paled in comparison to Pokemon Pokopia. Whether or not Beast Of Reincarnation will also be able to break out of this mold remains to be seen.
