Breath Of The Wild Is Now The 2nd Highest Selling Zelda Game Of All Time

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has officially become the second bestselling Zelda game of all time.

According to Nintendo’s financial data, the Switch version of Breath of the Wild sold 6.7 million units worldwide by the end of 2017. Wii U version sales came up to 1.08 million pieces. Thus, the total sales for Breath of the Wild comes up to 7.78 million units, making it the second highest selling Zelda game so far.

Breath of the Wild is expected to become the bestselling Zelda title of all time, when it beats Twilight Princess which has sold close to 9 million copies.

  • I'm almost positive it's only a matter of time until it becomes #1. BotW is incredible, and really "incredible" isn't even a strong enough word to describe it.

    I will say though that apparently I need to go back and play Twilight Princess. I completely missed it and never even realized how popular it actually was.
