Capcom Treats Nintendo Switch 2 Game-Key Cards As Digital Sales

During Capcom’s latest fiscal briefing, an investor asked whether Nintendo Switch 2 Game-Key Card sales are considered physical or digital products by the company.

Capcom responded that they considered it to be digital sales and not physical sales. This could mean that the margins from Game-Key Cards are similar to digital sales from the Nintendo eShop, therefore Capcom could treat them as digital sales in their fiscal reports. On a technical and consumer level, it could be because game data from Game-Key Cards are downloaded from the server.
