COMG: Pre-Orders For Pokemon Scarlet/Violet Sets A New Record In Japan

Today we have some interesting news about the potential launch sales for Pokemon Scarlet And Violet in Japan.

This news comes via sales data from COMG!, a large chain of videogame stores based in Japan’s Niigata prefecture. As shared by Twitter user @Pierre485, Pokemon Scarlet And Violet have crossed 1200 in pre-orders from the chain, which is a new record for any Switch game, surpassing pre-orders for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Super Smash Bros Ultimate, and every Pokemon game that previously launched on Switch.

COMG! accounts for a significant share of the Japanese videogame market, and it is believed that their figures are a good representation of the market as a whole. So far, its looking like Scarlet And Violet will prove to be another runaway success for The Pokemon Company, although we will have to wait for the official sales numbers to be sure.
