Nintendo and Cygames are hard at work on their new mobile IP, Dragalia Lost. But why Dragalia Lost, what’s in the name?
Explaining the name to Famitsu, Cygame’s Hiroki Matsuura said that the name was an original name from them. The team wanted a name that was international, a name that can easily communicate and draw attention of gamers worldwide. They also want the name to be easily to remember. So they merged the words Dragons and Regalia (which has regal connotation) into Dragalia.
Word combinations are not uncommon when it comes to making new names, sometimes it works sometimes it does not. But Dragalia does sound nice and have a certain click in it.
