Fans of the stress-inducing dungeon crawl of Darkest Dungeon rejoice! Developers Red Hook Studio have announced a follow-up to their breakout hit, which will release first in Early Access in some form. No Switch version has been announced yet, but we’re hopeful that one is on the way. Check out the trailer and further details below.
In an exclusive interview with PC Gamer, the developers stated that the combat system of the first game will return with “significant” changes in mechanics and presentation. They also stated the overall game structure would be more like a “grueling journey,” rather than like “cleaning up your backyard.” In addition, the setting was revealed to show “the supernatural apocalypse twisting and distorting the world beyond the estate” which was the setting of the first game.
