Dead Cells is really raking it in nowadays.
At GDC, developers Motion Twin revealed that the the rouge-like metroidvania title had crossed one million sales. The game originally launched in 2017, and later migrated to consoles in August 2018.
While the original PC version made up 60% of sales, Motion Twin also hinted that the Switch version was the best-selling console release so far! The game’s developer, Sébastien Bénard, commented:
“Console [is] a big part of it…especially the Switch.”
This is perhaps unsurprising, since Dead Cells also made it onto the Switch eShop’s top 10 best-selling indie titles in 2018. In any case, Switch fans should really give the game a look – especially since we know that more DLC is on the way.
