The Pokemon Company and Warner Bros. have came up with a brilliant and hilarious way to advertise Pokemon Detective Pikachu on a major French newspaper.
Earlier this week, the front page of the French newspaper was covered in the words “Pika Pika”, the words that Pikachu say in the Pokemon series. Alongside the “Pika Pika” gibberish are pictures of Detective Pikachu in the movie:
Reactions to the advertisement include “wow, that’s cute!” and “can Pikachu speak French in France?”. If the “Pika Pika” newspaper advertisement looks familiar to you, that’s because Warner Bros. France created a plugin that translates your web pages into “Pika Pika”.
