Blizzard Entertainment has issued an official clarification on what requires Nintendo Switch Online and what doesn’t in Diablo III: Eternal Collection.
While online multiplayer with other players requires a paid Nintendo Switch Online subscription, the game mode Seasons does not require it at all. For those of you unfamiliar with Diablo III, Seasons is a mode where players play for a duration of a season to earn rewards.
During the season, the best performing players of the season will have their names immortalized in the leaderboards. As the leaderboard is an online feature, some were unsure whether this would mean it requires Nintendo Switch Online, but thankfully it doesn’t.
