Previously, we reported that Discord was interested in bringing their popular voice chat and messaging app to Switch, even though Nintendo was already preparing their own voice chat solution. Although its been almost two years since then without any response from Nintendo, Discord hasn’t given up yet.
Responding to a question on Twitter, the official Discord Twitter account re-affirmed the company’s interest in bringing its app to the Switch …provided Nintendo would let them. They also recommended that fans keen on the idea should show their support through Discord’s feedback page.
While Discord on Switch would be a great alternative to Nintendo’s somewhat controversial voice chat app, if it didn’t happen after two years, its probably not going to happen ever. Perhaps one day Nintendo will take Discord up on their offer, but until then we can only wait and hope.
