In a New Year greetings article by Inside Games, Nippon Ichi Software President Sohei Niikawa revealed a few tidbits to start the new year.
First, Niikawa-san announced Disgaea 5 Complete has sold over 200,000 copies worldwide on Nintendo Switch, a huge increase from the 100,000 units we reported back in 2017. Niikawa thanked gamers and fans for supporting the title.
Second, Niikawa says Nippon Ichi Software is currently working on new IP and sequels to their existing game library, which will be announced in the near future. The company intends to focus their efforts on Nintendo Switch and PS4.
This year is also extra special for Nippon Ichi Software as on July 12, 2018, the company will celebrate its 25th anniversary.
