Multiple retailers in North America have given Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze for Nintendo Switch a USD59.99 price tag.
When the game previously launched on Wii U in February 2014, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze had a suggested retail price of USD49.99. This means the Switch version costs 10 dollars more than the Wii U version, which feels slightly odd given that it’s a port with a few extra additions.
This isn’t the first time Nintendo has charged extra for Switch games that were previously on Wii U. In Japan, customers have to fork out 16 bucks more for Bayonetta 2 and Bayonetta 1 on Nintendo Switch, as compared to the Wii U version of both games.
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze launches May 4, 2018.
