Earlier this year, the folks behind DOOM Eternal assured fans that they would not drag the game down with pointless real-world microtransactions and the like. But will the game still see additional content in other forms? It seems possible, according to the game’s director!
In a new interview with The Joe Rogan Experience, Id Software’s Hugo Martin teased a little about the game’s future after launch. In particular, Martin hints that the company has already started exploring future ideas for the game – including possible DLC:
“We’re already moving on to… I don’t want to say ‘the next thing’ – that is a PR answer, because I’m not allowed to say that – but we have ideas, certainly, and DLC [for Doom Eternal] Certainly we’re always dual-tracking things and talking always, because you never know when the cool idea is going to come along and you’re [always] jotting down notes. We keep those conversations going on the side and see how it goes.”
