Downwell Creator Quits Nintendo After One Year
Ojiro Fumoto, the indie creator which brought the world Downwell, has left Nintendo after working there for one year.
Working at Nintendo is a dream for most people, so why did Fumoto leave? Fumoto explained that he quit the company because he wanted to become an indie developer again, as while he was working for Nintendo, he realized his passion is to “simply be making a thing I want to make”.
I was working at Nintendo for most of 2018 but I quit at the end of the year to pursue being an indie dev again. Working there was an incredible experience but ultimately I found my passion to simply be making a thing I want to make.
So yeah, I'll get working on that this year!— Ojiro Fumoto (@OjiroFumoto) January 1, 2019
We wish Fumoto all the best for his future endeavors, and look forward to his next creation.
