As reported previously, EA Sports FC 24 marks EA’s departure from its partnership with FIFA when producing soccer titles – with subsequent games to do away with the “FIFA” branding altogether. Well, it looks like EA and FIFA’s break-up is now taking place retroactively as well.
As of this week, EA has taken down its previously-released FIFA games from digital storefronts – including the Nintendo Switch eShop. While the games’ eShop pages are still viewable, customers will no longer be able to purchase them (with the button to do so being greyed-out and stating “not available”)
This means that the only way to obtain these titles in the future will be to secure a physical copy.
We’ll report back as we hear more in the future. Stay tuned.
