Famitsu: Pokemon Let’s GO Requires Switch Online, Multiple Save Files On 1 Device Confirmed

A few days ago, Famitsu, IGN, and a few other outlets reported the Nintendo Switch Online paid service isn’t necessary to play Pokemon Let’s GO Pikachu/Eevee online.

The Pokemon Company has clarified with Famitsu that it isn’t the case – players will need to pay for the online service in order to play Pokemon Let’s GO online.

Also clarified were the online features Pokemon Let’s GO Pikachu/Eevee have and do not have – there’s simple online trading and battling, but features such as GTS (Global Trade System), Battle Spot, and Wonder Trade aren’t included.

In addition, the company confirmed players will be able to create up to 8 save files on the same system, as long as they have 8 Nintendo Accounts on the system.
