Famitsu has published their full launch sales data for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate in Japan.
From December 7 to December 9, 2018, Famitsu estimates the game sold 1,238,358 copies at launch. The figure includes physical copies, download cards, and hardware bundles. It does not include sales on the Nintendo eShop.
Nintendo Switch hardware sales saw a huge boost on the week of Smash Ultimate’s launch – 278,313 units were sold last week, a 2.6 times jump from the 107,450 the week before.
Nintendo Switch lifetime hardware sales have surpassed 6 million in Japan. The tally is now 6,116,566 as of the 93th week of the Switch.
