Famitsu: Switch Tops 15 Million Units Sold In Japan, Top 5 Software Shared

Japanese magazine Famitsu has published their latest sales data for the Switch in Japan.

According to their data, the Switch has now sold over 15 million units (15,073,025 units) in Japan as of September 9th 2020. They also published a chart showing off the Switch’s sales growth across different milestones such as the release of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Famitsu also shared a list of the Top 5 current best-selling games in Japan based on physical sales numbers, which you can view below:

  1. Animal Crossing: New Horizons (Nintendo) {2020.03.20} (¥5.980) – 5.628.462
  2. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (Nintendo) {2018.12.07} (¥7.200) -3.809.943
  3. Pokémon Sword / Shield (Pokemon Co.) {2019.11.15} (¥5.980) – 3.717.997
  4. Splatoon 2 (Nintendo) {2017.07.21} (¥5.980) – 3.544.763
  5. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (Nintendo) {2017.04.28} (¥5.980) – 3.131.858
