By now, the Pokemon community should be no stranger to hyper-realistic depictions of their favorite creatures. We’ve seen a small share of Galar Pokemon receive this artistic treatment to both horrifying or adorable effect so far – and now we’ve got even more from another talented individual!

Kristina Galajda, a freelance illustrator with a perchant for dragons, has recently been doodling up some unique Pokemon renditions of their own. Since the release of Pokemon Sword/Shield, Galajda has already drawn realistic versions of Dreepy, Dragapult, Toxtricity, Appletun, Arctozolt, Arctovish, and Dracovish – which you can gawk at below:

Another fairly recommended Pokémon for me to paint was appletun! This one was interesting. I had a few different ideas on how to draw it’s back, but decided on a kind of bubble (since it has that attack apple acid this could be where it stores it. And the bubble lies flat to the body when it runs out of PP). The eyes I made sort of like snail eyes that can thread through the flaps on the sides of its head to raise them. . . . #appletun #pokemon #fanart #pokemonart #realisticpokemon #pokemonswordshield #pokemonswordandshield #dragon #dragonart #dragonartist #dragondrawing #digitalpainting #illustration #illustrationart #illustrator #illustrationartist #art #artist #artistsoninstagram

Arctozolt is just a penguin dragon to me so that’s what I made. I had to restart this one because it just wasn’t looking right. Sometimes that’s what you have to do instead of painting over it a ton and making it worse and worse. One fossil left, dracozolt. And I currently have no idea how to make it look like it’s not wearing the bottom half of a dinosaur costume. Going to have to work on it… . . . . #pokemon #fanart #pokemonart #pokemonswordshield #pokemonswordandshield #arctozolt #dracovish #arctovish #dragon #dragonart #dragonartist #realisticpokemon #creature #creatureart #creaturedesign #creatureartist #bird #digitalart #illustration #illustrator #illustrationart #illustrationartist #art #artist #artistsoninstagram
