Fan-Art: What If Nintendo Directed Its Own Cinematic Universe For Videogame Movies?
At this point, everyone knows about the massively successful Marvel Cinematic Universe movies. With the recent Avengers: Endgame film finally wrapping up over 10 years of connected superhero stories, some fans are now wondering what a hypothetical ‘Videogame Cinematic Universe’ by Nintendo could look like.
Chucklefish developer @SamuriFerret recently posted a parody image depicting three ‘phases’ of videogame movies by Nintendo. Of course, it includes the upcoming Detective Pikachu and Sonic movies as a start – but quickly moves into pipe-dream territory with other franchises like Metroid Prime and Mega Man. It even looks like a hypothetical ‘Super Smash Bros.‘ movie would bring together multiple Nintendo stars in Phase 1, much like the first Avengers film from 2012!
Check it out in all of its glory below.

Of course, it would probably be impossible for Nintendo to get the full cooperation of SEGA, Capcom, and Konami for such an insane endeavor. For now, this will have to remain as nothing more than fantasy.
In any case: what do you think? What other movies would you want in this imaginary videogame universe? Let us know with your comments below!
