FIFA 18 is EA’s first title coming to Nintendo Switch, and the fate of future titles coming to the platform rests on its shoulders.
During an interview with Electronic Arts Worldwide Studios Executive VP Patrick Söderlund, the Vice President said EA definitely wants to “be a part of the Switch” and help grow the install base on it, which is the reason why they’re bringing FIFA 18 to the hybrid console.
However, at some point, numbers become a factor to consider. If FIFA 18 and “maybe a couple of” other titles perform well on the Switch (in terms of its sales figures), there’s no reason why the company “shouldn’t have as much of our portfolio on that platform as possible”.
