Fans have discovered a concerning disclaimer on the game’s official website – which states that players will only be able to play online with others “in the region specific to [the] player’s software”. Here’s a screenshot below:
While the exact mechanics of this region locking are not entirely clear – the wording here suggests that it will be based on the region the game was purchased from, instead of the region of one’s account. This most likely means that folks who purchase the US version will only be able to play online with others owning the US version. The same is probably the case for the Japanese and European versions, as well.
