Square Enix has announced the release date for the Switch 2 version of Final Fantasy XIV.
The acclaimed MMORPG will release on August 4th 2026 for Switch 2, with pre-orders available from today onwards. As detailed previously, the Switch 2 edition will require its own unique subscription in order to play, but will be free for one month as a test of the game’s stability on the platform. Players can choose from the Starter Edition some of the game’s early expansions, as well as the complete edition which contains everything up to the Dawntrail expansion.
Aside from the Switch 2 release date, Square Enix also shared more details about the upcoming new expansion Evercold, including a new job, new areas, and a new raid series that’s a crossover with Final Fantasy VII Remake. You can check out the full rundown here.
