Today, Nintendo released their fiscal earnings for the 9 months ending December 31, 2019 – revealing sales figures for various first-party titles.
Out of those titles, Fire Emblem: Three Houses moved a total of 2.58 million copies worldwide since its launch on in July 2019. The figure includes both physical and digital copies – with Japan accounting for 530,000 of those sales, while 2.04 million copies sold overseas.
Overall, it seems like the game’s sales are tapering off a little. Compared to Nintendo’s fiscal figures from three months ago – Three Houses only sold 50,000 more copies in Japan since then, while only 220,000 copies sold overseas in the same three months. That’s certainly not chump change, but it means that Christmas and Thanksgiving sales didn’t really do the game any favors.
Still, the Switch title is slowly catching up to the sales figures of Fire Emblem Fates (2.94 million units sold to date) – so we could eventually see Three Houses emerge as the top-seller of the entire franchises one day! We’ll report back as we hear more in the future.
