John Ricciardi, the co-founder of 8-4 Play, has shared a very interesting photo today.
The item he shared was the very first Animal Crossing (known as Animal Forest) for Nintendo 64 press materials. This was distributed to members of the press at Spaceworld 2000. Back then, Tom Nook was still called a raccoon.

Unfortunately Animal Forest was never meant to be on Nintendo 64, and would later be localized as Animal Crossing for GameCube. The game was only released for Nintendo 64 in Japan.
