Earlier this month, former Prime Minister of Singapore Goh Chok Tong took part in an unofficial Pokemon GO event called POGO for Rice, where hundreds of Pokemon GO trainers walked together to raise rice for the needy.
More photos of the event as well as Goh’s participation in it have been released. To kick off the event, Goh tossed a PokeBall design basketball to a child wearing a Pikachu costume.
Goh also successfully caught a Pinsir and Pidgey in Pokemon GO on Singapore trainer Brandon Tan’s iPad. He added that he now understands why Pokemon GO is so addictive, as the event is “fun with a social purpose”.
