Over the weekend, Fortnite launched FortniteOG, a new chapter of the game that saw the return of the popular battle royale game’s very first map.
According to developer Epic Games, the return of the OG map has allowed the game to smash several player records, having drawn in a staggering 44.7 million players on Saturday, clocking in 102 million hours of play. On the same day, they also set a new concurrent player record, reaching over 6 million simultaneous users at one point.
No doubt, these incredible player counts are due to nostalgic players returning to the Fortnite to relive the classic experience. That said, the OG Season is set to come to a close at the end of the month, and only time will tell whether the game will be able to retain these numbers moving forward.
