Game Freak, the studio behind Pokemon, has published a special message to close 2019 and welcome 2020.
The studio commented that they were grateful to players playing Pokemon Sword and Shield this year. They also said they are going to face a new challenge in 2020, which is very likely to be a new Pokemon game for Nintendo Switch. We’ll have to wait and see what’s in store.

Happy New Year. In 2019 we were able to launch Pokémon Sword and Shield, the newest title in the Pokémon series. We offer our most sincere gratitude to all players around the world for playing it. As we approach the new year, all Game Freak staff would like to set their sights on another new challenge. We look forward to your cooperation in 2020 too.
