Geoff Keighley, the producer of The Game Awards, has announced the Summer Games Fest 2020, which will run from May till August this year.
The Summer Games Fest is set to be “a season of digital video game events”, comprising updates from various publishers, playable demos, in-game events, and more. The events will be broadcast digitally through major streaming platforms such as Twitch, Youtube, Facebook, and more.
At the time of this writing, the following publishers known to be involved in the event:
- 2K Games
- Activision Publishing
- Bandai Namco Entertainment
- Bethesda Softworks
- Blizzard Entertainment
- Bungie
- CD Projekt Red
- Digital Extremes
- Electronic Arts
- Microsoft (further details coming next week)
- Private Division
- Riot Games
- Sony Interactive Entertainment
- Steam
- Square Enix
- Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.
Although Nintendo was not included in this initial list, additional publishers will apparently be announced in the coming weeks. Whether Nintendo is personally involved or not, we will be sure to cover any Switch related announcements that are made during this event.
