Every year, the world’s largest doujinshi fair Comiket attracts cosplayers from across the globe to Japan – with many dressing up as the latest characters in gaming and anime. Well, this year’s Comiket 97 was no different for many Pokemon cosplayers, whom wowed the crowd with their fantastic get-ups inspired by Pokemon Sword/Shield!
You can check out a collection of photos in the tweets below. Of note was the appearance of a humorous Gigantamax Meowth costume which towered above everyone, as well as some cosplayers running about as the Galar region mascot Ball Guy.
Visitors also encountered one cosplayer who dressed up as the new Pokemon Greedunt. Other notable Pokemon cosplayers included one dressing up as Battle Fest Zeraora along with Zapdos!
Of course, there were also cosplayers who graced the venue as all-new trainers and gym leaders from Pokemon Sword/Shield. Marnie, Piers, and a few other characters were popular picks for these folks.
