Guide: Completing Bunny Day For Animal Crossing: New Horizons

The 28th of March marked the return of Bunny Day to Animal Crossing: New Horizons, an event meant to celebrate the real-life Easter season.

Compared to the original version from 2020, Bunny Day 2021 boasts a number of differences that make it a little more manageable and less frustrating. Below you will find a quick guide explaining how to complete this new version of the event.

Starting Bunny Day

• Bunny Day begins on March 28th when the special character Zipper T. Bunny appears on the island. Talking to him will earn players the Bunny Day Bed DIY Recipe to start off.
  • For the event to trigger, players must have their game updated to the latest version.
• Players will then have between March 28th and April 4th to collect eggs around the island to use for crafting Bunny Day Items. Bunny Day DIY Recipes will also spawn on the island to collect.
• Special Bunny Day Items will also appear in Nook’s Cranny during this period.
• On the last day April 4th, Zipper will appear again and offer the player an additional four Bunny Day Items.
  • Bunny Day Arch Recipe: Simply speak to Zipper T. Bunny on April 4th.
  • Bunny Day Basket: Exchange one of every egg type to Zipper T. Bunny on April 4th — one Earth Egg, one Stone Egg, one Leaf Egg, one Wood Egg, one Sky Egg, and one Water Egg.
  • Wobbling Zipper Toy Recipe: Craft all other Bunny Day furniture items and speak to Zipper T. Bunny on April 4th. Clothing items are not required.
  • Bunny Day Wand Recipe: Craft the Wobbling Zipper Toy and speak to Zipper T. Bunny on April 4th.

Nook’s Cranny Bunny Day Items

• Unique to the 2021 version of the event, players will be able to purchase the following special Bunny Day Items from the seasonal slot of Nook’s Cranny during the event period.
  • Bunny Day Garden Flag
  • Bunny Day Planter Box
  • Bunny Day Candy
  • Bunny Day Tree

Collecting Eggs

• Players can collect a total of Six types of Eggs during this event, all of which are used for crafting exclusive Bunny Day Furniture and Clothing.
  • Leaf egg: Shake trees
  • Stone egg:  Hit rocks with a shovel or axe
  • Water egg: Fish in the river and ocean. (Look for small to medium fish shadows)
  • Sky egg: Shoot down special colored balloons for a present
  • Earth egg: Dig on star icons on the ground (like you would for a fossil
  • Wood egg: Hit trees with an axe
• In the 2021 version of Bunny Day, villagers may sometimes run up to the player to give them five free eggs of a random type.
• On April 4th, players can also trade one type of egg for another by talking to Zipper.

Collecting DIY Recipes

• During the Bunny Day event period, players can obtain Bunny Day Furniture DIY Recipes by shooting down rainbow balloons, talking to villagers, and picking up rainbow colored bottles on the beach.
  • There are 16 Bunny Day furniture items that can be obtained this way.
• Bunny Day Clothing DIY Recipes are obtained simply by picking up enough eggs of each type.
  • There are 21 Bunny Day clothing items that can be crafted using Easter Eggs.
