As with the previous game in the series, Octopath Traveler II allows players to unlock secondary jobs for their main characters, giving them added abilities beyond their primary job classes.
In order to unlock secondary jobs in Octopath Traveler II, players will have search for the Guilds associated with each basic job, which give out job licenses to equip secondary jobs. Up to three job licenses can be obtained from each guild, with the first one unlocked just by visiting the guild and the second and third ones obtained from completing guild quests.
The Guild for each basic job can typically be found very close to where the primary job holder can be recruited, such as the Hunter Guild being found on the same island where the Hunter character Ochette begins her journey. They are marked on the minimap with a banner icon, meaning players just need to head towards that icon on their minimap when they enter the area where the job is located.
After finding it the first time, the guild’s location will be marked on the world map with the same banner icon:
For more specifics about where to find each Guild, you can find some directions below, be warned as some of these could be considered spoilers for the game:
Apothecary Guild
- Located in Conning Creek town
- Can be found south of Canalbrine, where the Apothecary character Castti starts/is recruited
- After entering Conning Creek, head east up the stairs, then head south to find a small building with two flower boxes. This is the Apothecary Guild
Cleric Guild
- Located in the region Borderfall, east of Flamechurch where the Cleric character Temonos starts/is recruited
- After entering the Borderfall area, head north across the bridge to find the church where the Cleric Guild is located.
- Within the Cleric Guild is a secret passage to the Cleric Job Altar, which unlocks Temenos’ first EX Skill, it is advised to bring Temenos to the guild with you to unlock this at the same time.
Dancer Guild
- Located in Wellgrove Town
- Can be found southwest of Cropdale, where the Dancer character Agnea starts/is recruited
- From Cropdale, take the east exit to Eastern Cropdale Trail
- Then, take the south exit to Southern Cropdale Trail
- Then, take the west exit to Northern Wellgrove Trail
- Then, take the south exit to Eastern Wellgrove Trail
- Finally, take the west exit to reach Wellgrove
- Climb up the staircases all the way up to near the top of the town, then enter a small house with flowers around the doorway. This is the Dancer Guild.
Hunter Guild
- Located in Western Tropu’hopu Traverse, to the north of Beastling Village where the Hunter character Ochette starts/is recruited.
- From Beastling Village, head north until you reach the pier, then head east to reach Western Tropu’hopu Traverse
- Once you enter Western Tropu’hopu Traverse, you should see the Guild icon on the minimap
- Head east towards the save point, then climb the stairs and circle back towards where you came in. There is a hidden path in the trees that will allow you to reach the Guild, which is a small campsite. Use the icon as a guide if you are unsure.
- The Hunter Job Alter, which unlocks Ochette’s first EX Skill is located in the same area, it is advised to bring Ochette along with you if you have her recruited.
Merchant Guild
- Located in Western Crackridge Wilds, north of Oresrush where the Merchant character Partitio starts/is recruited.
- The path towards this area is relatively straightforward from Oresrush, keep heading north until you reach it.
- When you see the Western Crackridge Wilds save point, head west, following the Guild icon on the minimap until you reach a small camp populated by Merchants, this is the Merchant Guild.
Scholar Guild
- Located in Western Winterbloom Snows, west and to the north where the Scholar character Osvald is first found lying in the snow.
- Head all the way west in Western Winterbloom Snows, then north, the Scholar Guild is the small building located there. Follow the Guild icon in the minimap if needed.
Thief Guild
- Located in Clockbank, east of New Delsta where the Thief character Throne starts/is recruited.
- While in town, activate Night time by pressing the ZR button
- Head to the North from where you entered town to reach the Industrial District, once there, the Guild icon should be visible on the minimap
- Head West towards the Guild icon, then walk South down a hidden flight of steps, enter the small passageway hidden behind a stack of boxes, and follow through to reach the Thieves Guild
- The NPCs at the Thieves Guild will only be there at night.
Warrior Guild
- Located in Sai, a town south of where the Warrior character Hikari starts/is recruited.
- Once in town, head north in the direction of the Guild Icon until you reach a big dojo, this is the Warrior Guild.
