
Guide: Tips To Complete Pokemon Scarlet/Violet’s Mightiest Mark Skeledirge Tera Raid
Over the course of this weekend, Pokemon Scarlet And Violet players will be challenging a 7 Star Tera Raid which features a Fire Tera Type Skeledirge with the Mightiest Mark.
This 7 Star Tera Raid gives out a great deal of useful rewards such as Vitamins, Rare Candies, Ability Patches, and most notably, Herba Mystica. This makes being able to complete the raid consistently extremely useful. Below you will find some quick tips and tricks for beating this Raid Battle, as discovered and shared by many members of the Pokemon community.
How To Unlock 7-Star Raids
In order to even participate in this raid battle, players will need to progress far enough in the game to qualify for 7-Star raids. This essentially means meeting the following requirements:
- Have completed the story and seen the end credits
- Have completed all Gym Rematches and the Academy Ace Tournament
- Have completed 10 or more raids rated 4* and above.
Once you have completed these steps, the 7-Star Raid will appear both in your overworld as well as on the Tera Raid board.
Skeledirge’s Ability and Moves
- The Tera Raid Skeledirge has a Fire Tera-Type, meaning that it does more damage with its Fire-Type, and Ghost-Type moves.
- As a Fire Tera-Type, it is weak to Water, Ground, and Rock type attacks.
- Skeledirge’s Ability is Unaware, which allows renders the opponent’s stat boosts ineffective.
- Skeledirge’s notable moves include the following:
- Torch Song ~ Fire-Type attack that raises the user’s Sp.Atk stat.
- Shadow Ball ~ Ghost-Type attack that has a chance to lower the opponent’s Sp.Def stat.
- Stomping Tantrum ~ Ground-Type attack that does double damage if the previous move missed.
- Hyper Voice ~ Normal-Type attack that damages all opponents.
- Flame Charge ~ Fire-Type attack that raises the user’s Speed stat.
- Disarming Voice ~ Fairy-Type attack that never misses.
- Skeledirge’s Battle Behaviour
- Start ~ Uses Flame Charge and Disarming Voice.
- 80% time remaining ~ Resets the player Pokemon’s stat changes and status effects, then uses Hyper Voice.
- 75% HP / 75% Time ~ Sets up its Tera Shield and resets its own negative stat changes and status effects.
- 50% HP ~ Resets its own negative stat changes and status effects.
- 40% HP ~ Uses Flame Charge.
General Recommendations
- Avoid using Pokemon with a weakness to Fire, Ghost, Ground, and Fairy moves. Fainting in battle reduces the timer, and if it reaches zero before the raid boss is defeated, everyone will fail the raid battle.
- Use Level 100 Pokemon to maximize your chance of successfully completing the raid.
- Use Vitamins to maximize your Pokemon’s key stats to increase your chance of successfully completing the Raid.
- Use Cheers when necessary
- Go For It! ~ Boosts Attacking stats.
- Hang Tough! ~ Boosts Defensive stats.
- Heal Up! ~ Heals HP and cures Status conditions.
Recommended Pokemon
Quagsire
- Water/Ground typing makes it resistant to most of Skeledirge’s moves.
- Ability Unaware allows it to ignore stat boosts from Skeledirge’s Torch Song.
- Recommended Tera-Type: Water
- Recommended Stat Spread
- Modest Nature to raise Sp.Atk
- Max out Sp.Atk with Calcium
- Max out Sp.Def with Zinc
- Recommended Moves:
- Acid Spray ~ Poison-Type attack that does damage while also reducing the opponent’s Sp.Defense
- Surf ~ Water-Type attack that damages all other Pokemon.
- Rain Dance ~ Sets up Rainy weather, which boosts the power of Water-Type attacks.
- Protect ~ Status move that prevents the user from being hit by the opponent’s move for one turn.
- Recommended Items:
- Shell Bell ~ Recovers HP when attacking.
- Strategy (Main Attacker)
- Use Acid Spray three times to reduce Skeledirge’s Sp.Defense.
- When Skeledirge clears your stat boosts and disables your ability, use Protect to defend.
- Once the Tera Orb is charged, ensure your Quagsire is at near full HP before Terastalizing to a to a Water-Type, then use Surf repeatedly until Skeledirge faints. Switch to Acid Spray when Skeledirge resets its own stat changes.
Tentacruel
- Water/Poison typing is resistant to most of Skeledirge’s moves.
- Ability Clear Body makes it immune to stat debuffs.
- Recommended Tera-Type: Water
- Recommended Stat Spread
- Modest Nature to raise Sp.Atk
- Max out Sp.Atk with Calcium
- Max out Sp.Def with Zinc
- Recommended Moves:
- Throat Chop ~ Dark-Type attack that prevents the opponent from using sound-based moves for two turns.
- Acid Spray ~ Poison-Type attack that does damage while also reducing the opponent’s Sp.Defense
- Surf ~ Water-Type attack that damages all other Pokemon.
- Rain Dance ~ Sets up Rainy weather, which boosts the power of Water-Type attacks.
- Recommended Items:
- Shell Bell ~ Recovers HP when attacking.
- Strategy (Main Attacker)
- Use Throat Chop to stop Skeledirge from using Torch Song.
- Alternate between using Throat Chop and Acid Spray to reduce Skeledirge’s Sp.Def.
- Once the Tera Orb is charged, ensure your Tentacruel is at near full HP before Terastalizing to a to a Water-Type.
- Alternate between using Throat Chop and Surf until Skeledirge faints.
Golduck
- Water typing is resistant to most of Skeledirge’s moves.
- Ability Damp has no relevant effect for this battle, but will not interfere with the strategies of teammates.
- Recommended Tera-Type: Water
- Recommended Stat Spread
- Modest Nature to raise Sp.Atk
- Max out Sp.Atk with Calcium
- Max out Sp.Def with Zinc
- Recommended Moves:
- Skill Swap ~ Exchanges ability with the target Pokemon.
- Calm Mind ~ Boosts the user’s Sp.Atk and Sp.Def stats.
- Surf ~ Water-Type attack that damages all other Pokemon.
- Rain Dance ~ Sets up Rainy weather, which boosts the power of Water-Type attacks.
- Recommended Items:
- Shell Bell ~ Recovers HP when attacking.
- Strategy (Attack/Support)
- Use Skill Swap to steal Unaware from Skeledirge.
- Use Calm Mind three times to boost your stats.
- User Surf to deal damage to Skeledirge.
- Once the Tera Orb is charged, ensure your Tentacruel is at near full HP before Terastalizing to a to a Water-Type, and use Surf until Skeledirge faints.
