The Nintendo Switch, released on March 3, 2017 in many parts of the world, has turned one today (as of Japanese time).
Time really flies. It felt as if the Switch was just released yesterday. Looking back, I remember how I was blown away by The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild running in Handheld Mode, and proceeded to sink hundreds of hours within the span of three weeks. It was worth the wait – all of the gossip, chatter, and anticipation.
We saw a string of great releases from Nintendo too. Just to name a few – Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, ARMS, Splatoon 2, Super Mario Odyssey, and Xenoblade Chronicles 2. I’d have never played so much in a year if the Switch wasn’t out! And never have we seen third party and indie support giving their all for a Nintendo system. Also, Nintendo had finally proved the doomsday analysts wrong, seeing their stock soar to Wii-era levels.
Let’s hope when the Switch celebrates its 2nd birthday next year, we would all have a great and amazing year to look back to. Here’s to another year of fantastic games on Nintendo Switch!
