HD 2D Term Used To Describe Octopath Traveler Trademarked In Europe

Square Enix has registered two trademarks in Europe this week that probably have something to do with Octopath Traveler.

The two trademarks are “HD 2D” and “HD-2D”, terms used to describe the high definition pop out 2D pixel art style used in Octopath Traveler. With the terms trademarked, Square Enix could be looking to release more HD 2D style games in the future, not necessarily something restricted to Octopath Traveler.

What do you think? Let us know in the comments.
