Last year, pro-democracy protestors in Hong Kong gathered all across the city to ask for five demands, and also made use of various video game characters in fan art to promote their cause.
With the launch of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, some of these protestors have created custom designs to spread their message, such as making artwork to make fun of Chief Executive Carrie Lam and promote some of the core messages behind the movement. This is also happening as the city is in lockdown due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.
