During the full Switch 2 reveal, Nintendo revealed an official camera accessory for the console, which would be used for video chat via the new GameChat feature.
In case that camera was a bit too bland for fans’ tastes, accessory maker HORI has announced their own officially licensed version that is based on the iconic Piranha Plant from Super Mario Bros. The Piranha Plant camera features an opening and closing mouth, and can be mounted in a pot or on the Switch 2 itself via the USB-C connector.
At the time of this writing, the camera is only confirmed to release on Germany on the Switch 2 launch day of June 5th 2025. Presumably, it will also be made available in other regions on the same date.
