How IVs Are Calculated When You Transfer A Pokemon From GO To Let’s GO

IV, also known as Individual Value, is one of the most important “genetics” that determine how strong a Pokemon is in every Pokemon game.

While most of the mainline games including Pokemon Let’s GO Pikachu/Eevee treat IVs have treated IVs the same way for many years, the way IVs are formulated are very different in Pokemon GO.

Today, dataminers have discovered how Game Freak converts IVs when a Pokemon is transferred from Pokemon GO to Pokemon Let’s GO.

To determine a Pokemon’s HP in Pokemon Let’s GO, the Stamina stat in Pokemon GO would be multiplied by 2 and added by 1. The Pokemon GO Attack stat is also multiplied 2 and added by 1 to set the Pokemon’s ATK and SPA stats. The same happens for Defense stat, used to determine the Pokemon’s DEF and SPD stats. The Speed stat is generated randomly.

In summary, the calculations are as follows:

Pokemon GO -> Pokemon Let’s GO

Stamina x 2 + 1 = HP

ATK x 2 + 1 = ATK / SPA

DEF x 2 + 1 = DEF / SPD

Speed = Random
