Inti Creates Reveals Grim Guardians: Demon Purge For Switch
Inti Creates, the creators of Azure Striker Gun Volt and Gal Gun, have announced a new game called Grim Guardians: Demon Purge for Switch and other platforms.
Grim Guardians: Demon Purge is a 2D action platformer seemingly inspired by Castlevania with a hint of Mega Man. Players take the role of two demon hunting sisters with unique abilities and playstyles exploring an evil castle that has taken over their school. At the time of this writing, no release date was shared, but we know that the game is in development for Switch, PC, and other consoles.

Introduction
Inti Creates announced today the start of development on a new 2D action project, Grim Guardians: Demon Purge, ahead of exhibiting it at indie game show BitSummit X-Roads held at Kyoto’s Miyako Messe hall on August 6 and 7.
Grim Guardians: Demon Purge centers around two demon hunters who return to their school after a mission only to find a demonic castle where it once stood. Players control both of the demon hunting sisters in this 2D side-scrolling action game. Players must master each of the sisters’ unique abilities and attributes to overcome the challenging stages with bosses awaiting their arrival. They’ll also be able to find new routes through each stage using the two characters’ abilities, keeping play throughs fresh.
Other features include two-player co-op with special actions, extensive difficulty options with the “Style System,” unique changes on repeat plays, and most importantly the quality and challenge players have come to expect from Inti Creates titles, this time with a new gothic horror aesthetic.
Playable Characters
The stars of Grim Guardians: Demon Purge are the long-distance focused Shinobu Kamizono and the close-range brawler Maya Kamizono. Players will need to consider the situation when choosing which sister to control as they make their way through the castle, investigating the mystery of what happened to their school and its students.

Shinobu Kamizono (voiced by Emi Uema)
Elder of the Kamizono sisters, Shinobu is brimming with confidence, but still tends to make careless mistakes. She excels at long-range attacks using her rapid-fire submachine gun, taking out her demonic foes from a safe distance!
Maya Kamizono (voiced by Chinami Hashimoto)
Younger of the sisters, Maya supports her strong-willed sister from the shadows with her reliable personality. A technical close-range attacker, creating various weapons from origami. Use her various weapons to deal massive damage!
