Introducing GALA-MOS, NintendoSoup’s New Editor-In-Chief

Dear readers,

Hi there. This is GALA-MOS. I’ll be taking on the mantle of Editor-in-Chief at NintendoSoup, starting today.

While you may not have noticed me around, I’ve actually worked on the site since last year. The experience so far has been a wild ride: I got to cover multiple Nintendo Directs by the minute (hectic as that may be) and report on all sorts of exciting games.

On my resume, I’m just some bespectacled guy living in the tropical suburbs. In my heart, I’m a videogame aficionado, avid collector of physical games, and a laid-back artist. My favorite Switch games so far have been Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and its standalone Torna expansion – with around 200 hours played between both.

As I take on this new role, my love for writing videogame stories for fellow fans will remain my primary objective. However, you can also consider me as NintendoSoup’s overseer and administrator from this day onward – it’s now my responsibility to improve on what has been done well, while smoothing over what hasn’t.

Like Iggy before me, I’m constantly surprised by the people who know this site outside of the internet. It started out so small, and has grown significantly in the past few months. Even some of my distant friends were surprised when I mentioned I was writing for the site. It’s a huge weight to shoulder, but I have a tight-knit team behind me that I’ve personally tutored and I trust with the work we do.

I know it’s easy to be skeptical of videogame news writers in this day and age. It comes with the territory, and I won’t say that the site is perfect. We can become too passionate as gaming fans ourselves, and that passion does lead us to slip up sometimes. Again, my job is to ensure we move forward more professionally in what we report everyday.

To all our supporters out there: we look forward to exciting everyone with more Nintendo-centric news in the future. To our critics: we will continue to iron out the kinks in what we do.

Thank you all, and have a good week ahead.

Yours truly,

GALA-MOS
