irem Collection Volume 1 Announced For Switch

Publishers ININ Games, Strictly Limited Games, and developer irem have announced the irem Collection series for Switch.

This five volume series collects several of irem’s classic titles for release on modern platforms, some of which have never been released in the West. At the time of this writing, only Volume 1 has been fully detailed, and will contain three legendary shoot ’em up games Image Fight, Image Fight II, and X-Multiply. They will be available digitally for Switch and other platforms, as well as in various different physical releases from Strictly Limited as follows:

Limited Edition (4,000 copies available for Switch)

• A Physical copy of the game for the platform of choice
• An exclusive title sheet design
• An English manual

Collector’s Edition (2,000 copies available for Switch)

• Limited Edition of the game for Nintendo Switch
  Irem Collection Volume 1 on cartridge in a game case with an exclusive, limited and serialized cover sheet.
• Collector’s Edition Box
  An outstanding premium box with magnetic latch in special retro art style to collect the game and all of the collector’s items for this edition. The format will be amended to 4:3 to transfer screen vibes of that time to the box; it will still have same width and height to make sure it looks good in the shelf next to other Strictly Limited Games Collector’s Edition.
• Game Manual
  Colorful manual with game instructions.
• Visual Compendium
  A compendium comprising a game guide and an art book, which will include all information and profund insights about these three legends of gaming history. Stay tuned for updates on this impressive format!
• Original Soundtrack
  The awesome soundtracks of Image Fight, Image Fight 2, and X Multiply.
• Collectors Coin
  Collect the first of five limited irem coins, one for each of the five upcoming volumes of the irem Collection. The arcade-inspired coin design will a.o. include the three iconic ships of the games.
• Marquee Sticker
  Sticker prints inspired by the original arcade marquees. Together with the retro reprint set, they create an arcade atmosphere at home.
• Reversible Poster
  Featuring the cover of the irem Collection Volume 1 artworks.
• DIY Game Packaging Reproduction
  Rebuild the Image Fight NES and Famicom packaging.
• Arcade/Game Flyer Reprints
  Faithful reprints of the original flyers.

Limited Edition Bundle (3,000 copies available for Switch)

• Equivalent to the Limited Edition, but includes all five planned Volumes

Collector’s Edition Bundle (1,000 copies available for Switch)

• Equivalent to the Collector’s Edition, but includes all five planned Volumes
