Japan: Breath of The Wild Is The Bestselling Legend Of Zelda Game In 19 Years

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has surpassed all other Zelda titles sold in Japan in the last 19 years.

According to Media Create figures, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild sold 957,752 copies at retail as of last week. This number is taken from the Switch version of the game and does not include Wii U figures.

The previous second highest selling Zelda title was Phantom Hourglass (DS), which sold 907,821 copies. The title that Breath of the Wild hasn’t beaten yet is Ocarina of Time (N64), which sold 1,250,000 copies in its entire lifetime. Breath of the Wild would become the bestselling Zelda title in 20 years if it’s able to beat Ocarina of Time.
