Japan: Kirby’s Extra Epic Yarn Only Sells 20% Of Shipment On Day One

Media Create has published Day-One sales figures for Kirby’s Extra Epic Yarn (3DS) this week, in Japan.

Sadly, the remake of the Wii-original title seems to be moving units at a snail’s pace. Despite launching on a Friday, retailers only reported selling around 20% of the game’s initial shipment on launch day. While sales could improve over the weekend, these low numbers do seem to indicate that the ailing 3DS hardware is falling out of favor with Nintendo fans and gamers alike.

What do you think? Should Nintendo continue to leverage on its huge 3DS library? Or is finally time to let the handheld retire peacefully? Let us know in your comments below.
